    • Ishimaru Denki - an electronic retailer with 10 stores in Akihabara, with the most famous one located in Chuo-dori
    • Sofmap - one of the largest personal computer and consumer electronics retailers in Japan
    • Onoden - one of Akihabara's longest standing and most emblematic consumer electronics shop
    • Rocket Ham Radio - one of the oldest shops in Akihabara that rose to popularity in the 1960's by selling black-and-white television sets. Now, the shop focuses on amateur and professional radio receivers and equipment.
    • Sato Musen - former name for the Tsukumo Building, an electronic department store located in front of the exit of JR Akihabara station, famous for its hamster tube-like escalators on the building's exterior. It was shut down on August 30, 2020.

    • Bukiya - weapons store chain operated by Weapon Shop Co., Ltd. that handles imitation weapons, armor, shields, etc. The store in Akihabara closed on May 31, 2013.
    • Super Potato - dynamic store specializing in vintage video games, consoles, collectibles and candy.
    • Tsukuba Express - railway line that connects Akihabara Station in Chiyoda, Tokyo and Tsukuba Station in Tsukuba, Ibaraki. It was inaugurated on August 24, 2005, just over three months before AKB48 Team A officially debuted.
