The AKB48 17th Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo "Kaasan ni Chikatte, Gachi Desu" (AKB48 17thシングル選抜総選挙「母さんに誓って、ガチです」?) was held on June 9, 2010 at Nippon Budokan. Fans made their voices heard by voting for their favorite AKB48/SKE48 member at the second annual AKB48 election, and now the top 21 members are featured on the group's 17th single Heavy Rotation. Among those 21, the top 12 members are featured on the single's cover, as well as all media appearances for the song (including the music video). Meanwhile, the 22nd to 39th place members join the reformed Undergirls unit for the B-side track Namida no Seesaw Game. Type B Version comes with the bonus track Lucky Seven, featuring 16 of the top 40 AKB48 election winners, plus a bonus DVD with three music videos, part two of the documentary on this year's AKB48 election, and the Type B Version of the Isshoni Koreichi featurette.

Ishiguro Atsuki, the #40 sousenkyou member, from Kenkyuusei failed the process, thus wasn't featured in this single and her spot wasn't filled.
