The AKB48 Group Draft Meeting (AKB48グループ ドラフト会議, AKB48 Guruupu Dorafuto Kaigi?) is an event where each Team Captains can select new members from a selected group of AKB48 Draft Candidates.
The first draft was held on November 10, 2013 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa (グランドプリンスホテル新高輪, Gurando Purinsu Hoteru Shin Takanawa?).
Terms
- All captains from AKB48, SKE48, NMB48 and HKT48 (with the exception of the captain of the newly formed Team 4) will participate in the draft under the guidance of their respective Theater Managers.
- Candidates who has acquired multiple nominations will be decided through voting.
- Candidates who will proceed to the draft meeting are only the ones who passed the "AKB48 Group Draft Meeting Candidate Audition".
- When drafted, the candidates will be a member of the designated team as "Draft Members".
- Candidates who participates in the Draft Meeting (unlike in Kenkyuusei) will be a member of the team they are assigned to as "Draft Members" and will participate in each teams' lessons, training, activities, theater performances, etc.
- A candidate can reject a team nomination, if such, she will also lose the right to be nominated into that team.
