The BNK48 & CGM48 Senbatsu General Election 2025 was announced on December 7, 2024. GE5 Token were included in BNK48's 18th single Green Flash and CGM48's 9th single Totsuzen Do love me!. The final results will be revealed on March 29, 2025.
This is the first Senbatsu Election to be jointly named under BNK48 and CGM48 as the ownership of the next single depends on the group origin of the winner. If a BNK48 member wins in this election, the next single will be BNK48's 19th single, otherwise it will be CGM48's 10th single.
The top 12 members will be featured in the Senbatsu for a new single. Members ranked 13th to 24th will join Undergirls for the B-side track and members ranked 25th to 36th will join the Next Girls for the 2nd B-side track. Additionally, Kami 7 members will receive another special song.
As members filed for candidacy for this election, they were asked to list down three songs from AKB48 Group that will be chosen to be included in the new single if they become the center for Senbatsu (#1), Undergirls (#13), or Next Girls (#25).
In case that more than one centers have chosen the same song for their respective units, the one who has the higher rank gets the right to the song for her unit, while the one with the lower rank gets the song listed next on her application form.
The new rule in this election gives the opportunity for BNK48 members to participate in a CGM48 single for the first time, in case a CGM48 member becomes the winner.
The music video for Senbatsu is announced to be filmed in Japan.
The special song for the top 7 members will be produced by F.HERO.
