History
2020
On September 1, MNL48 announced its first ever sub-unit Baby Blue in partnership with Tower Records Japan. It was formed by three members each from different teams: 1st Generation members Cristine Jan Elaurza from Team MII and Coleen Trinidad from Team NIV, as well as 2nd Generation member Amanda Isidto from Team L. It was also announced that Cristine Jan Elaurza takes the role of being the sub-unit's leader. Following the announcement, the sub-unit officially released its debut single Sweet Talking Sugar through the Japanese digital music subscription service, EGGS.
2022
On June 30, the sub-unit's leader Cristine Jan Elaurza announced her departure both from MNL48 and Baby Blue. With this, Hallo Hallo Entertainment announced through its official website that 2nd Generation member Francese Therese Pinlac from Team L will be the new additional member replacing Jan.
