Dismissed Members

Members of AKB48 Group, Sakamichi Series, and SNH48 Group who were forced to leave their group by management.

Reasons for termination can include (but are not limited to):

• Public scandals
• Inappropriate behavior or comments towards fans, other members, or staff
• Rule violations (the "no-dating" rule being the most notable)
• An inability to handle the group's activities, or lack of popularity within the group (depending on the group's expectations).

Other times, the reason for a member's dismissal is not publicly stated by the management. An example is Putri Cahyaning Anggraini.

Depending on the reason for the dismissal and its seriousness, a few members who were dismissed at one point have been allowed to rejoin their group or debut in another group, while others have managed to find new success in the entertainment industry through solo projects or in a completely different music group.
