Keyakizaka46 (欅坂46?) was a Japanese Idol Group and the first sister group of Nogizaka46. The 1st Generation members were announced on August 21, 2015 and on the same day, their name was changed from the original Toriizaka46 (鳥居坂46?). Their debut single, Silent Majority, was released on April 6, 2016.
On February 11, 2019 it was announced that Hiragana Keyakizaka46 would become independent from the group, renaming to Hinatazaka46.
On July 16, 2020, during the KEYAKIZAKA46 Live Online, but with YOU! live-streamed concert, captain Sugai Yuuka announced that the group would undergo a rebranding. Their final single as Keyakizaka46 was Dare ga Sono Kane wo Narasu no ka?, with their final concert taking place on October 12-13, 2020.
On September 20, 2020, it was officially revealed that Keyakizaka46's name would be changed to Sakurazaka46.
History[]
The auditions for Toriizaka46 began on June 28, and ran until August 21.
On August 21, the first generation members were introduced and the name of the group was changed to Keyakizaka46.
Sometime in September, Suzuki Mizuho graduated from the group.
On October 4, Keyakizaka46's variety show Keyaki tte, Kakenai? started. It airs on Sundays on TV Tokyo.
In November, Harada Mayu graduated from the group after having a scandal.
On November 30, it was announced that Nagahama Neru had joined the group as a part of Hiragana Keyaki.
On April 6, Keyakizaka46 released their major debut single, "Silent Majority". Selling 261,580 copies on its first week, it became the highest selling debut single in Japanese music history (as female artists).
On May 11, a second generation of members joined the group as part of Hiragana Keyaki.
On July 5, KEYABINGO!, another Keyakizaka46 variety show, started. The first season ended on September 24.
On July 16, Keyakizaka46's drama, Tokuyama Daigoro wo dare ga koroshita ka?, started airing. It ended on October 1.
On August 10, the group released their second single "Sekai ni wa Ai Shika Nai", selling 323,066 copies on its first week. This was the first senbatsu of Nagahama Neru.
On November 30, the group released their third single "Futari Saison", selling 442,322 copies on its first week.
On April 5, the group released their fourth single "Fukyouwaon", selling 591,499 copies on its first week.
On April 13, Imaizumi Yui announced her hiatus from the group due to poor health condition, she returned to the group on August 29.
On May 17, Keyakizaka46's second drama, Zankoku na Kankyakutachi, started airing. It ended on July 20.
On July 19, the group released their first album "Masshirona Mono wa Yogoshitaku Naru", which sold 279,000 copies on its first week.
On October 25, the group released their fifth single "Kaze ni Fukarete mo", selling 642,386 copies on its first week.
On August 13, the second generation of Hiragana Keyaki members were selected and announced. They are the third generation of Keyakizaka46.
On September 24, it was announced that Nagahama Neru would no longer be part of both Kanji Keyaki and Hiragana Keyaki and she would now become a full-time Kanji Keyaki member.
On October 19, Keyakizaka46's third drama Re:Mind, started airing. This is Hiragana Keyaki's first drama.Members[]
