KLP48 Logo
KLP48 (short for Kuala Lumpur48) is a Malaysian all-female idol group based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the 10th international sister group of AKB48. The group was announced on January 1, 2024. The logo color of KLP48 is derived from the Malaysian jade, encapsulating an image of the gentle aura, empathy and fusion of different values.[1]

Current
History
- On January 1, the group was announced through AKB48's official social media pages. The KLP48 official website was also launched on the same day.
- On Summer 2024, KLP48 1st Generation announcement
- The first generation audition will be held in January 2024 and will be announced in Summer 2024.
- On February 19, the group held their 1st Generation Auditions until the last day of March. Eligible members between the ages of 13 to 23, any nationality allowed, and passionate in singing and dancing are applicable to join the group.
- On March 17, AKB48 announced in public during the 2024 Spring Concert in Pia Arena MM that the three (3) members Kurosu Haruka, Gyoten Yurina, and Yamane Suzuha will fully transfer to KLP48 starting on June 1.
- They will finish their activities as a members of AKB48 on May 31, 2024.
- On March 18, the day after the announcement held in AKB48’s spring concert, Kai Kokoa of STU48 1st Generation will join and fully transfer to KLP48 starting on June 1.
- On July 27, KLP48 1st Generation Members were announced.
- On August 18, KLP48 will make their first debut in AKB48 Group Live in KL 2024 ~ First Cry ~.
