NGT48, 2021

NGT48 (short for Niigata48) is an all-female Japanese idol group and the 4th domestic sister group of AKB48. The group has their own theater in Lovela 2 building in Niigata. The 1st Generation members were announced on July 25, 2015.

History

NGT48, August 2015

On January 25, the creation of their new sister group was announced at AKB48 Request Hour 2015.

On March 4, AKB48 released the 39th single Green Flash. This is the last single of Kitahara Rie as an AKB48 Member before she transfers to NGT48.

On March 26, Kitahara Rie transferred permanently to NGT48, to hold the group as a Captain. Also, Kashiwagi Yuki will hold her Kennin position on a said group. This was happened on AKB48 Spring Shuffle 2015.

On April 10, the 1st Generation audition of the group has started. Eligible members between the ages of 11 to 23 are applicable to apply.

On May 3, the group announced that will join on 2nd AKB48 Draft Kaigi.

On May 10, AKB48 introduced the 2nd Generation Draft Members. Two members Ogino Yuka and Nishigata Marina were drafted to NGT48. Also, Imamura Etsuko will represent the theater manager of the group.

On May 18, the application for 1st Generation members was ended.

On May 19, the voting methods for the upcoming 7th AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo are now opened. Two members Kashiwagi Yuki and Kitahara Rie joined on a said event.

On June 5, AKB48 closed the voting lines, in line with computing the final results for the upcoming 7th AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo.

On June 6, the results were revealed in 7th AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo at Fukuoka Yahoo! Auctions Dome. Kashiwagi Yuki ranked 2nd place, while Kitahara Rie ranked 11.

On July 20, the group announced the 1st Generation members, debuting the original 22 members.

On August 26, AKB48 released the 41st single Halloween Night. Kitahara Rie's participation in the Senbatsu line-up of Halloween Night was now enlisted her as NGT48 Member, after she was fully transferred to a new group.

On January 10, the group announced the formation of Team NIII, which formed only 16 members of the 1st team. 14 members are original Kenkyuusei members were promoted to the team, along with one transferred member and one Kennin member. Also, the 1st stage was announced that would be started on the same day, entitled PARTY ga Hajimaru yo, a revival from AKB48's Team A 1st Stage.

On February 21, the coupling song of 43rd single Kimi wa Melody premiered the music video Max Toki 315-go (short version) in their YouTube Official Channel.

On March 9, AKB48 released the 43rd single Kimi wa Melody. This single includes NGT48's first original song Max Toki 315-go, centered by Takakura Moeka.

On May 15, the 1st stage of Team NIII has ended.

On May 28, the Team NIII 2nd Stage has started, entitled Pajama Drive, a revival from AKB48's Team B 3rd Stage.

On May 31, AKB48 opened the voting lines for the upcoming 8th Senbatsu Election. This is the first time that the NGT48 will join the said event.

On June 1, AKB48 released the 44th single Tsubasa wa Iranai. This single includes NGT48's 2nd original song Kimi wa Doko ni Iru?, centered by Kato Minami.

On June 17, AKB48 closed the voting lines, in line for the final result announcement of 8th Senbatsu Election.

On June 18, AKB48 held the 8th Senbatsu Election at HARD OFF ECO Stadium Niigata. From NGT48, only 2 members were ranked within the top 80. From top 81 to 100, two members from Team NIII (Ogino Yuka ranked 95th place, and Nakai Rika ranked 96th place) were included in the final results, but they didn't receive any B-side tracks for the upcoming 45th single release.

On August 9, the NGT48 Kenkyuusei 1st stage has started, entitled Natsu no Nijikai PARTY. This stage is a modified revival from AKB48's Team A 1st Stage.

On August 31, AKB48 released the 44th single music video Tsubasa wa Iranai, with the first time AKB48 Senbatsu participation of Kato Minami and Takakura Moeka of Team NIII. Also, the parent group released the 45th single LOVE TRIP/Shiawase wo Wakenasai on the same day.

On October 6, the NGT48 Kenkyuusei 1st stage has ended.

On October 13, the Shonichi of NGT48 Kenkyuusei 2nd Stage had started. The same process that the group did on the Kenkyuusei 1st stage, with few modifications.

On December 30, Mizusawa Ayaka announced her graduation.

On March 2, AKB48's 47th single coupling song music video Midori to Mori no Undokouen has released on NGT48's YouTube official Chanel.

On March 15, AKB48 released the 47th single Shoot Sign. This single includes NGT48's 3rd original song Midori to Mori no Undokouen.

On March 17, the group premiered the debut single music video Seishun Dokei on their YouTube Official Channel.

On March 31, Mizusawa Ayaka graduated from the group, 12 days before the release of the debut single.

On April 12, the group released their debut single Seishun Dokei. This is the only single participation of Mizusawa Ayaka, although she's graduated before the single release.

On April 19, the group released the new encore setlist in NGT48 Kenkyuusei 2nd Stage.

On June 5, the Team NIII 2nd Stage has ended.

On June 17, AKB48 held the 9th Senbatsu Sousenkyo at Toyosaki Seaside Park, Toyosaki Villa SUN Beach in Tomigusuku, Okinawa Prefecture. From this group, 10 members were luckily ranked within the top 80: 3 members ranked from Senbatsu, 2 from Undergirls, 1 from Next Girls, 1 from Future Girls, and 3 from Upcoming Girls.

On July 2, the Shonichi stage of Team NIII 3rd Stage has started. This stage is a revival stage from Team Surprise 4th Stage, but the setlist is "almost original". Also, this stage setlist performed outside the Pachinko games (which now performed on NGT48 Theater).

On August 21, Kitahara Rie announced her graduation.

On October 29, the Senshuuraku of NGT48 Kenkyuusei 2nd Stage has ended.

On October 31, Otaki Yuria graduated from the group.

On November 7, the group premiered their 2nd single music video Sekai wa Doko Made Aozora na no ka?, centered by Ogino Yuka.

On November 12, the Shonichi of NGT48 Kenkyuusei 3rd Stage has started.

On November 22, AKB48 released the 50th single 11-gatsu no Anklet. This is the last Senbatsu and AKB48 single participation of Kitahara Rie.

On December 6, the group released their 2nd single Sekai wa Doko Made Aozora na no ka?.

On March 14, AKB48 released the 51st single Jabaja. This single includes NGT48's 4th original song Tomodachi de Imashou, centered by Takakura Moeka. This is her last center in AKB48 B-sides.

On March 20, the group premiered the 3rd single main song music video Haru wa Doko kara kuru no ka?, centered by Homma Hinata.

On April 11, the group released their 3rd single Haru wa Doko kara kuru no ka?. This is the last Senbatsu and single participation of Kitahara Rie.

On April 13, the group held the first team shuffle at Tandoku Concert. Due to Kitahara Rie's graduation announcement, Kato Minami appointed her as the new captain of Team NIII.

On April 18, Kitahara Rie graduated from the group. She held her graduation ceremony at Toki Messe and final theater performance at NGT48 Theater.

On May 22, Miyajima Aya announced her graduation.

On May 29, AKB48 opened the voting lines for the upcoming 10th Senbatsu Sousenkyo.

On June 12, the group announced their 2nd Generation members.

On June 16, AKB48 held the 10th Senbatsu Sousenkyo at Nagoya Dome, Aichi Prefecture. From this group, 14 members were luckily ranked within the top 100. 11 members were from Team NIII (2 from Senbatsu, 2 from Undergirls, 1 from Next Girls, 1 from Future Girls, 4 from Upcoming Girls, and 1 from 10th World Senbatsu General Election Commemorative Category), and 3 members from Kenkyuusei (1 from Undergirls, 1 from Next Girls, and 1 from Future Girls).

On June 23 and 24, the Team NIII 3rd Stage and NGT48 Kenkyuusei 3rd Stage has ended.

On June 30, the 3rd Stage of Team NIII was revived for the first time and has started as Kato Team NIII.

On July 1, the group announced the formation of Team G. The 2nd team formed only 11 members (7 members were transferred from Team NIII and 4 members from Kenkyuusei). Also, Homma Hinata appointed as the captain of the team, and the Shonichi of 1st Stage entitled Saka Agari has started, a revival from AKB48's Team K 5th Stage. Due to the lack of members for this stage (as well as for the units), some of Team NIII Members were included in the Shonichi stage as support member.

On July 25, Takahashi Mau announced her graduation.

On August 8, Miyajima Aya graduated from the group.

On August 29, the group premiered their full version of the 4th single music video Sekai no Hito e, centered by Ogino Yuka. This is her the 2nd and last center on NGT48 A-sides.

On October 3, the group released their 4th single Sekai no Hito e. This is the last single and Senbatsu participation of Takakura Moeka, Yamaguchi Maho, Hasegawa Rena, Sugahara Riko and Kashiwagi Yuki. Also, this is the last single that was released under Ariola Japan / Sony Music Entertainment Japan.

On October 5, Takahashi Mau graduated from the group.

On December 24, the Shonichi of NGT48 Kenkyuusei 4th Stage has started.

On January 14, Hayakawa Maiko was appointed as new theater manager of NGT48, replacing Imamura Etsuro. To carry out her duties as a theater manager, she appointed Okada Tsuyoshi as NGT48 Vice Theater Manager.

On April 21, all team stages have ended. Also, their teams had dissolved by the management, and fused into 1st Generation and 2nd Generation. The same day, Kashiwagi Yuki ended her journey on the said group and returned to AKB48 Team B, and 3 members (Sugahara Riko, Hasegawa Rena and Yamaguchi Maho) announced their graduations.

On May 19, Sugahara Riko, Hasegawa Rena and Yamaguchi Maho performed the song Taiyou wa Nando Demo for their graduation ceremony. Then, they were graduated from the group after the final performance.

On May 21, Kato Minami demoted to Kenkyuusei due to her post on Instagram story of Yamaguchi Maho's graduation.

On July 15, Murakumo Fuka announced her graduation.

On June 22, Watanabe Ayusa announced her graduation.

On August 1, Murakumo Fuka graduated from the group.

On August 3, the group announced that they will resume their theater performances and prepare for their full-scale restart.

On August 18, the group reopened their theater and they start their Shonichi of the 1st stage, entitled Yume wo Shinaseru Wake ni Ikanai (夢を死なせるわけにいかない), a revival from AKB48's Himawarigumi 2nd Stage. They performed their 1st Stage without any teams.

On August 25, Sato Anju announced her graduation.

On September 23, Sato Anju graduated from the group.

On March 23, Takakura Moeka graduated from the group.

On March 30, Hayakawa Maiko resigned as an NGT48 Theater Manager.

On March 31, Takahashi Nanami graduated from the group.

On July 2, after their hiatus for single and music video release, they released their teaser music video of their upcoming 5th single release, set to release on July 22.

On July 10, the group premiered their full music video of their 5th single Sherbet Pink on their YouTube channel. In this music video, the theme they use is "reunion after their long absence". Also, this is the first time to be centered by Fujisaki Miyu.

On July 22, the group released their 5th single Sherbet Pink. This is the first single released under EMI Records / Universal Music Japan (same label of HKT48).

On August 21, Tano Ayaka announced her graduation.

On October 31, Tano Ayaka graduated from the group.

On December 25, the 3rd Draft Generation members from AKB48 Draft Candidates, which was held last January 2018, were now promoted as 3rd Draft Members from being a Kenkyuusei Member, and one member was promoted to 1st Generation. After Kato Minami's promotion, she announced her graduation.

On January 31, Kato Minami graduated from the group.

On May 7, the group announced the upcoming 6th single release, which will release on June 23. The Senbatsu line-up was revealed and their center is Ogoe Haruka.

On June 10, the group released their music video teaser of the 6th single main song Awesome.

On June 16, the group premiered their 6th single music video Awesome, centered by Ogoe Haruka. Also, this is Ogino Yuka's last Senbatsu participation.

On June 23, the group released the 6th single Awesome. This is the last single participation of Ogino Yuka and Komiyama Sara.

On July 23, Ogino Yuka announced her graduation. She will end her activities in the group until October 30, 2021.

On September 29, Komiyama Sara announced her graduation. She will end her activities in the group until the final day of the year 2021.

On October 31, the group announced the upcoming 7th single release, which will release on December 22. This is the return of the group to release two singles in one year since 2018, after they release the 4th single Sekai no Hito e. Also, the Senbatsu line-up was announced, and their center is Ogoe Haruka. This is her 2nd time to choose her as a center of an A-side track. The same day, Yamada Noe announced her graduation.

On November 8, Ogino Yuka performed for the final time at NGT48 Theater, and graduated from the group.
