Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2008 (桜の花びらたち2008; Cherry Blossom Petals) is AKB48's eighth major single, and their last under DefSTAR Records label. It is a remake of AKB48's first indie single. Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2008 was used as the ending theme for TBS' variety show Arabikidan. It was released in three different versions: a limited edition type A with a DVD, a limited edition type B with an extra song and a regular edition. This single reached #10 on the weekly Oricon charts, charted for five weeks and sold 25,482 copies.

- The A-side song is a remastered version of 2006 version release.
- The B-side song, Saigo no Seifuku is the first new song which didn't come from any stages.
- After Sakura no Hanabiratachi and Bingo!, this was the third time that all the AKB48 members appeared in the PV of a single.
- This was the first time all the AKB48 members appeared in a single cover.
- In 2010, a special version of the A-side called Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2010 was made. However, it was only sung in a TV show, and there were no plans to release this new version in the future.
